Aloha from CNP – The 4th Annual Kount Summit
On Monday, May 23rd, we held the fourth annual Kount Summit at the CardNotPresent Expo in sunny Orlando, Florida. Unable to join in on the fun and wondering what you missed? To be honest, a lot! In addition to great weather and a full Hawaiian Luau-themed dinner (complete with leis, a roasted pig, hula dancers, and fire dancers), we heard from a number of industry experts, merchants, and Kount partners during a full day of fraud-fighting programming.
Among the fantastic presentations was keynoter Mike Baker, a former covert field operations officer in CIA and founder of Diligence USA LLC. We heard about different techniques other countries have used to conduct economic espionage – from sending nationals to top universities with the hope that one day they are promoted high enough to gather classified intel, to good old-fashioned recording devices in aircrafts’ first class.
Exchanging ideas and best practices, attendees learned how fraudsters are better equipped today than ever before – and what they can do to prevent becoming a victim, and gained insight from many merchants on their successful integrations with Kount. Summit presenters included Chase Paymentech, Braintree, Ethoca, The Source, Emailage, and many more. Besides compelling content and learning the latest in fraud, Kount announced a couple of brand new integrations at the CNP Expo:
- Ethoca, the industry standard for collaboration-based technology solutions that help card issuers and online merchants increase card acceptance and stop ecommerce fraud and disputes, announced the full integration of Ethoca Alerts into Kount Complete. The integration gives merchants a more seamless, efficient experience, reduced manual effort, and an improved ability to stop related active orders that they may otherwise have fulfilled, as well as future fraudulent transactions.
- BlueSnap, a next-generation global payment gateway that solves checkout abandonment, released its new Cleanse Report to help merchants analyze their sales traffic and develop an action plan to optimize their sales funnel. By combining payments data from the Powered Buy Platform™ and shopper data from Kount’s fraud engine, BlueSnap is now able to give merchants a much deeper understanding of the consumers they are attracting to their site.
